Marnus Labuschagne Feels Jasprit Bumrah Is Very Difficult To Face

The young Australian batsman, Marnus Labuschagne has played just one Test against India but he is quite confident that he will be able to get past the world-class Indian pace attack except Jasprit Bumrah is “hard to get past”. He reckons that the upcoming four-match series in December will be an acid test for him as he has been a great form in recent times.

During a recent interview with PTI, Marnus said, “They are all good bowlers but it is hard to get past Jasprit Bumrah. He has the ability to consistently bowl around 140 kmph and swings the ball when conditions are suitable. He is also able to angle the ball back in at the stumps. Jasprit is probably the leader of that attack.”

Labuschagne also feels that Ishant Sharma has emerged as the crucial cog for India in the past two years. Having played a few ODIs against India and a Test match during the 2018-19 season, the right-hand batsman reckons that expresses his eagerness for the upcoming Test series.

Marnus Labuschangne explained, “I have played one Test against India in Sydney. I have a bit of experience of facing their attack in that Test and later when I came to India for white-ball series. So, I have to make sure that I understand my game well, so when Indian bowlers come at me, I have to ensure that I am one step ahead.”

Earlier, the Indian batting legend, Sachin Tendulkar has showered praised for Labuschagne’s technique and temperament after watching him in the Ashes last year. Talk about Tendulkar and his compliments and Labuschagne expressed his pleasure for the same.

Describing the same, Marnus Labushchagne said, “For someone (Tendulkar) of his caliber speaking highly of me is an amazing feeling. I haven’t yet met him in person. We missed each other on a few occasions. Can’t wait to meet him as there is a lot to learn from a player of his stature.”
