The quirky Australian batter, Marnus Labuschagne enjoyed his time in the middle of the opening day of the second Ashes Test. His innings of 95 run off 275 deliveries, along with David Warner’s knock of 95 runs, helped Australia reach a total of 221 runs for the loss of two wickets at the end of the day. He eventually went on to score a century on Day 2 when he comes out to bat again.
Marnus Labuschagne blocked the last ball of the 70th over bowled by Ollie Robinson. He was quick enough to appreciate the bowler and tell him, “Ohhh! That’s a nice ball there.” In reply, Robinson was seen smiling back before walking back. This incident occurred just before the drinks break on an opening day. Ollie Robinson bowled 16 overs and gave away 34 runs without picking a wicket.

Before the Adelaide Test, England and Sri Lanka were the two teams against whom Marnus Labuschagne hadn’t scored a century in Test cricket. In five Test matches, he has made 427 runs against England at an average of 53.38. He might be able to improve his record against the arch-rival tomorrow. Here is the video of Labuschagne appreciating Robinson:

However, there have been several fortuitous moments during the crease of Marnus Labuschagne. On Thursday, he was dropped twice by England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, which included a fairly straightforward chance during the closing stages of play.
On Friday, soon after Marnus Labuschagne got to his sixth Test century, he was caught behind off an Ollie Robinson delivery, only for the TV replays to suggest that the bowler had overstepped. He survived another close chance when an aerial pull shot off Stuart Broad just about evaded Robinson at square leg soon after.

However, it was the same bowler who eventually got the prized wicket of Marnus Labuchagne, who was trapped Australia’s No.3 leg-before in the very next over for 103. Australia was 3/241 at the time of writing, with Steve Smith joined by Travis Head at the crease.
