Team India had already taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the 5-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. The win in the 4th ODI means Sri Lanka definitely have to go through qualifying matches for ICC World Cup 2019.

After winning the toss, skipper Virat Kohli chose to bat with both the team making changes as the series was decided. Despite the early loss of Shikhar Dhawan, India recovered well with the brilliants innings of Rohit Sharma (104) and Virat (131), who built a 219-run partnership as well for the second wicket.

India’s innings were however concluded with Manish Pandey(50*) and MS Dhoni(49*) who stitched a century partnership and helped India to reach a mammoth first innings score of 375/5 in 50 overs. It is also India’s highest total in Sri Lanka.

In the second innings, Sri Lankan batting order’s behavior didn’t change as they got bundled out for 207. They lost the match by a huge margin of 168 runs.

However, this match has seen crossing a lot of milestones and that too some memorable ones. Here is the look at the 4th ODI between India and Sri Lanka from the eyes of stats:

300 – MS Dhoni got to play his 300th ODI match out of which 297 he played for India.

3 – Kohli became the 3rd highest ODI century maker when he completed in 29th ODI ton. He is youngest one to do so. He is only behind Ricky Ponting (30) and Sachin Tendulkar (49).

300 – Lasith Malinga completed the tally of 300 ODI wickets in the 203rd game when he dismissed Kohli.

3 – Rohit and Virat registered there 3rd 200+ runs partnership in ODIs.

73 – Dhoni now holds the world record of maximum no. of not out innings i.e., 73.

1 – Debutant Shardul Thakur took his maiden ODI wicket in his second over of his debut.
