Australia wicket-keeper batsman, Matthew Wade has said the forthcoming Test series between India and Australia will post a tough for Tim Paine and his men since they got together as a group. Wade is not a first-choice wicketkeeper anymore but he is looking forward to the series, which is scheduled to commence on December 3.

Wade said Virat Kohli boosts the morale of Team India and adds that much more to the visitors that are going to make the series a challenging one for Paine’s men. Australia lost to Kohli and his men India in 2018-19 but they were without Steve Smith and David Warner who were serving their ball-tampering bans. Since the historic loss, Australia has finally got back to the winning ways.

During a recent chat with cricket.com.au., Wade said, “Everyone, although they might not admit it, is looking towards that Indian series. It’s going to be hard work. They (India) are a fierce team. Led by Virat, you can see the way he goes about it on the field, you can see what it means to him and he drives all those guys, they jump on the back of him. It’s going to be as big a challenge as this team has faced for the 12 months we’ve been together.”

India will be facing a sterner challenge when they will be visiting down under as they will face the No. 1 Test side, bolstered by the presence of Smith and Warner along with much improved Marnus Labuschagne. Speaking to India Today, former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly had conceded that Australia will be posing a difficult challenge to Kohli’s men.

Ganguly had said, “It’s going to be a tough series. It’s not going to be what it was in 2018 when they went. It’s going to be a strong Australia but our team is as good. We have the batting, we have the bowling.”
