Australian middle-order batsman Glen Maxwell has been called to cover the injured Aaron Finch for the fourth One-Day International against England, which will be played on traditional Australia Day in Adelaide. Finch has sustained a minor hamstring injury, which will keep him at bay from the fourth match of this five-game series against their arch-rival England.
Initially, Maxwell was not the part of this squad and selectors dropped him on the basis of his poor run of form in international cricket. However, he will join the team on Thursday night, but it is unlikely that he will get a chance to play in this game.

Finch’s absence is a huge setback for Australia as he was in good touch throughout this series with hundreds in first two ODIs, which was followed by an aggressive half-century.
Meanwhile, Finch is set to undergo a reassessment ahead of the fifth and final ODI in Perth on Sunday, before a decision is taken on his availability.

England has already secured the series by winning the first three games of this series. So far, nothing has gone in Australia’s way since the end of a rather dominant Ashes series. In their previous 11 ODIs, current World Cup holder has secured just one in their favor, which came against India in Bengaluru.
However, hosts will try to turn the tables in Adelaide Oval on Friday.
