Ahead of this T20I series, Indian players, under the guidance of bowling coach Morne Morkel, participated in an intense practice session on Thursday, October 3. In a video shared by BCCI on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Indian pacers Arshdeep Singh, Mayank Yadav, and Harshit Rana were seen charging in full throttle, accompanied by all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

Hardik, with his vast experience of 102 T20I matches, stands as the most seasoned player in the 15-member squad selected for this series. One standout moment in the session was 22-year-old Mayank Yadav, who was captured bowling at his full pace, a clip that quickly went viral.

The Lucknow Super Giants pacer, known for clocking speeds over 150 kmph during IPL 2024, earned his maiden call-up to the Indian squad for this series. His stellar IPL performance under the leadership of KL Rahul has placed him in prime position to make his international debut in the first T20I.

With Jasprit Bumrah absent, Arshdeep Singh will lead India’s pace attack. The left-arm quick was in scintillating form during the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he claimed 17 wickets across eight matches, finishing as the joint-leading wicket-taker. His red-hot form will be crucial for India as they aim to start the series strong against Bangladesh, with Mayank likely to play a key supporting role.
