One of the all-time great batsmen, Javed Miandad, scored 7,381 runs in 233 matches at an average of 41.70 and a strike rate of 61.01. During his 21-year long ODI career, he scored eight centuries and 50 half-centuries.

His last century, 107 (144), with the help of nine fours and two sixes, came against South Africa in 1993 at East London during the fourth match of the Total International Series, a triangular series involving West Indies.

Wasim Akram, the then Pakistani captain, had won the toss and chose to bat. Miandad came in to bat at No. 4 and was dismissed in the last over of the innings via a run out by Hansie Cronje.
