Former Australia captain Michael Clarke praised Rishabh Pant for his amazing recovery journey after he scored his second Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 half-century. Playing against Kolkata Knight Riders, Pant scored his second fifty of the season on Wednesday, 3 April. Clarke also hinted at Pant making his way towards an India team comeback soon as well. Notably, he faced a near-death accident in December 2022 and after 14 months he has been slowly getting back to his usual form. And, this is helpful for India ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup in June.

Speaking to Star Sports about Rishabh Pant’s impressive performance against KKR, Michael Clarke said, “Yeah look it’s great for Indian cricket, but it’s also great for Rishabh Pant. I think the work that has gone into his rehab to get back to that level of play at any standard is an amazing achievement. He deserves a lot of credit for his hard work and it’s great to see him on the field, captaining and playing well, batting and keeping.”

“I saw the Delhi physio run out to the field a couple of times to check on him, so hopefully he’s pulled out okay, the positives are in the presentation he said he was fine and hopefully a day off or a couple of days off and he will be ready for the next game. He’s a wonderful player and everybody is happy that he’s back on the field and we want to see him play for Delhi, but we also want to see him come back and play for India as soon as possible,” Michael Clarke further added.

Despite Delhi’s poor performance in this season so far, Pant has showcased some much-awaited performances. The fifty against KKR only followed his brilliant 51 off 32 balls innings against CSK as well.
