India’s campaign seems to have virtually come to an end as first they suffered a 10-wicket loss against Pakistan, followed by another loss against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The script of the defeat against Pakistan was followed as India lost the toss and were put in to bat by the Blackcaps skipper Kane Williamson.

Former England skipper, Michael Vaughan, who doesn’t stop in making his predictions around Indian cricket, took to Twitter and shared his viewpoint. He predicted that Team India could be knocked out of the tournament because of their performance. The tweet came while India’s batting was going on.

In his tweet, Michael Vaughan wrote: “India could be on the way out of this #T20WorldCup .. the mindset & approach with all that talent so far has been so wrong #India.” India’s batting display was quite poor and the application wasn’t quite right. Suryakumar Yadav’s injury meant Ishan Kishan had to be brought into the XI and he was promoted to open the batting.

This meant that Rohit Sharma came in at no. 3 while KL Rahul was reserved as an opener. Kishan went out early while Rahul was dismissed for 18. Rohit and Virat Kohli didn’t get going either as India at the halfway stage were 48 for 4. They never really recovered from that. The Blackcaps bowlers kept things tight and never allowed the Indian batters to hit themselves out of pressure.

Taking into account India’s dismaying show with the bat, Vaughan took it to his official Twitter account to express his opinions on the same. He wrote: “India are playing 2010 Cricket. The game has moved on .. #T20WorldCup.”
