Later, Wriddhiman Saha and Amit Mishra have also returned positive on Tuesday, prior to the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in New Delhi. Seeing this, BCCI decided to postpone the 14th edition of the IPL to ensure the safety of the players and staff as well.

Amid this situation, Michael Vaughan has called BCCI’s decision ‘sensible’, also shared his concern for the overseas players who have been in India due to a ban on flights from India as well. While Australia banned all direct flights from India till May 15, UK kept India on its ‘red list’ as well. Steve Smith, David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins, Chris Woakes and Jos Buttler are among the overseas players who have featured in IPL 2021 are still in the country.
