Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has heaped praises on Joe Root for his outstanding batting display in the ongoing five-match Test series against India. Vaughan has said he hasn’t seen any England player batting better than Root.
Joe Root has been in sensational form since the start of 2021 in Test cricket. He began the year with a double hundred against Sri Lanka and followed it up with 186 in the next game. He, then, travelled to India and scored yet another double ton in Chennai.

Root saw a dip in form but shrugged his troubles against India in the five-match Test series. He scored a fifty and a hundred in the Nottingham Test. Another special knock came in the Lord’s Test where he scored an unbeaten 180 runs.
Former England batsman Michael Vaughan pointed out how brilliant Root is batting this year and has gone on to state that it’s the best he has ever seen an English batsman play.
“Has an English player ever played any better than this!! If they have, I haven’t seen it … Fantastic,” Vaughan tweeted.

England skipper scored yet another ton in the Leeds Test and strengthen his team’s position in the game. This was his sixth ton of the series and has shattered multiple records in the process.
Meanwhile, India are way behind in the third Test against England at Headingley. Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bat first but his decision seemed to be backfired as England shot India down for 78 in the first innings. James Anderson’s opening spell burst shocked India as he registered the figures of 8-5-6-3.
In response, England openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed put a 135-run opening stand and cruised their team into the lead. Both openers got out after scoring their respective fifties. Dawid Malan, too, scored fifty before getting out while Root is still batting in the middle after scoring a century.
