Michael Vaughan Vouches For New Zealand To Win The WTC Final

With the World Test Championship (WTC) final is hardly 5 days away to begin on June 18, former England skipper, Michael Vaughan took to social media to warn India about their upcoming opponents New Zealand. Kane Williamson and his men are currently celebrating the Test series win against England after a win in the second game, despite the absence of their captain, who is recovering from an injury.

Warning Virat Kohli and his men ahead of WTC final, Michael Vaughan tweeted, “NZ are a high class team .. Read the situation with the Bat in hand,skilful with the ball & catch brilliantly .. Really fancy them to beat India next week .. #ENGvNZ”.

Former Indian opener, Wasim Jaffer is usually active on Twitter, as he is often been seen posting coded messages regarding team selections and asks the fans to decode them. However, during times when there are no matches, the former Indian opener is known for reacting to opinions or sharing hilarious memes.

Just a couple of hours after Vaughan tweeted his opinion on the WTC Final, Jaffer responded with a meme template from the famous Bollywood movie ‘Welcome’. It features a quote from the movie, “tera kaam hogaya tu ja” which literally translates to “Your work is done, now leave.”

The win against England also helped New Zealand to get past India in the ICC Test rankings. The WTC final will be held at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton, and New Zealand will be hoping to use their good form against India in the summit clash.

On the other hand, India will be going into the match without any recent proper match practice other than an ongoing intra-squad game. The Indian cricketers were last seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, which was postpone by teh BCCU for indefnite period of time due to a rise in COVID-19 cases. 

After the WTC final, India will also face England in a five-match Test series.
