Former England skipper Michael Vaughan backs Ravichandran Ashwin to play in the third Test against England in Leeds. Vaughan has said he would be amazed if Ashwin doesn’t get a chance at Headingley.
He backs India to go with both Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin in the next Test as the pitch in Leeds is going to be dry and nice along with the sunny condition.

Indian team management coped a lot of criticism for benching Ashwin in the first two Test matches of the series. Instead, they opted to field Jadeja to strike a better balance in the batting department. However, Jadeja hasn’t taken a single wicket so far in the series while he has amassed 99 runs in the three innings.
Vaughan opined India should go with their both star spinners in the next game and he would be amazed if Ashwin sits for another game.
“It looks like it’s a very good week, it’s going to be very dry, nice, and sunny so I’d be amazed if Ashwin doesn’t play this week. I think they will go with three pacers and two spinners, and I think that will be the right call at Headingley, it also packs the batting. Play your three out and out, outstanding quick bowlers,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

He sees Ishant Sharma making a way for Ashwin to be brought back into the playing XI.
“Maybe Ishant Sharma would miss out even though he bowled a nice spell on the last day at Lord’s. The last few years after seeing the England team play there and even county cricket, it’s got quite a bit of spin. You can get a bit of spin. It generally comes on Day 3, 4, and 5 but spin can play a part at Leeds,” the 46-year-old added.
The third Test between England and India will undergo in Leeds from August 25.
