Batting first at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, Delhi Daredevils managed to notch up a fighting total of 174/4 against the Mumbai Indians. Mumbai will be desperate to win this match as a win here guarantees them a spot in the playoffs. Rishabh Pant once again led the batting for Delhi team and Vijay Shankar added crucial later runs to take the home team to a safe point.

Krunal Pandya dismissed Rishabh Pant for 64(44)

Earlier, in the day Delhi Captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first citing the chance to put on a big total. They made only one change to the playing XI  and brought in Liam Plunkett in the place of Avesh Khan. Mumbai Indians for whom the match was as good as a pre-quarterfinal had one forced change in the side. Mitchell McClenaghan got injured and MI replaced him with Mustafizur Rehman.

Delhi decided to open the innings with Shaw and Maxwell. The duo started off well and just when it was looking like a masterstroke, Shaw was run-out due to his carelessness in returning to the crease. Hardik’s direct hit found Shaw out of the crease and the opening partnership of 30 from 19 balls ended there. Soon Bumrah gobbled up Maxwell and got him bowled.

It was Rishabh Pant show once again from that stage. Today also, snatching the orange cap, Pant scored 64 runs from 44 balls with four boundaries and four sixes. His departure brought DD’s possible score from 200 down to 175. Vijay Shankar 43(30) and Abhishek Sharma 15(10) tried their best and they eventually got to 174/4. Bumrah again showed his bowling form with 29/1 in his four overs.
