In a phenomenal batting display at the Chinnaswamy, Rishabh Pant played one of most brilliant knocks ever as scored 85(48) to take Delhi from a lowish score to a very defendable 175. Earlier, it was Shreyas Iyer who first gathered the momentum for Delhi after a sluggish start. RCB spinners bowled incredibly well early on a helpful pitch but it all went haywire once Pant settled his eyes.

The start for the home team, Royal Challengers Bangalore was a positive one, They won the toss and chose to bowl first citing dew a major contributing fact to the decision. RCB decided to bring in Manan Vohra in place of Sarfraz Khan which was one experts were yearning for.

The start from Delhi openers was terrible as both struggled to get going. Roy and Gambhir could not add much and looked terribly out of touch. SOnn Umesh Yadav got Gambhir out on a short ball which Gambhir failed to time and lobbed up in the air. Delhi lost the first wicket for 7 after 14 balls.

Jason Roy was put out of his misery in the 6th over by Yuzvendra Chahal who tricked Roy into his spin and non-spinning balls. Daredevils’ 28 for 2 became the lowest Powerplay score this season, with 22 dot balls out of 36 balls faced.

It was Pant and Iyer show after that. The duo consolidated and started attacking ferociously. From being 39/2 after 7 overs, Delhi ended up with 174 runs on the board. In the 14th over, Shreyas Iyer slammed two consecutive sixes off Sundar and got out for 53 off 31. Pant exploded later to take the score to next level.
