Milind Kumar, who was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has retired from Indian cricket. And, after retiring, he has now signed with the Minor League Cricket in the USA, where he will play for The Philadelphians.

The 30-year-old cricketer has followed the footsteps of former India under-19 captain Unmukt Chand, who has recently announced his retirement from Indian cricket to move to the US as well. Before Chand, Smit Patel, Harmeet Singh and Siddarth Trivedi had also joined the MLC. Notably, they were featured in the Rajasthan Royals squad too.

According to BCCI’s rule, a player (male) cannot take part in other leagues in world cricket if he hasn’t retired from Indian cricket. “Yes, I’ve informed the BCCI of my decision to retire from cricket in India. I enjoyed playing for Delhi with great players like Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and Ishant Sharma, and it’s time to move on,” Milind Kumar told Times of India.

However, he was a part of the Delhi team which successfully beat England in a practice match way back in 2013 where he scored 78* off 85 as well. He also played for Board President’s XI against New Zealand in 2017. Since he has left cricket under BCCI, Milind Kumar can now play in other franchise leagues as well. On the other hand, Smit Patel, who left Indian cricket earlier this year, has been selected by the Barbados Tridents for this year’s Caribbean Premier League as well.
