Recently, an interview has been published in an Indian media site where the former Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Johnson praised the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah for his bowling skills. Later, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also published that interview on their official site. However, the former Aussie pacer Johnson has denied the whole interview.

On this Sunday (December 23) morning, an Indian English-language daily newspaper website published an interview with the former Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Johnson. In that interview, Johnson spoke about the current Indian and Australian pace attacks along with some words about himself.

Later, the ICC also published that interview in their official page. According to that interview, Johnson once quoted about the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, “He hardly bowls a loose delivery, which means he is hard to score off and any batsman will think twice before taking him on.”

After knowing about that interview, the former Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson denied that whole interview on his official Twitter account.

At first, Johnson shared that ICC link and posted, “Where has this come from? I don’t recall this. Who wrote this? I do agree with parts of it but I never sat down with anyone from memory”

A few minutes later, the Aussie pacer shared the original article link and denied the whole interview process, “Interesting article @TOISportsNews given I’m not in Melbourne & never sat down for a Q&A with this journalist”

In quick time, ICC unpublished their article and informed Johnson about that by posting on their official Twitter account, “Good evening Mitch. Given your Twitter comments, we are going to unpublish the article that features quotes that have been attributed to you. Please get in touch via DM if you’d like to issue a clarification”

The 37-year-old Mitchell Johnson played the international cricket between 2005 and 2015. The left-arm pacer played 73 Tests, 153 ODIs and 30 T20Is where he picked up a total of 590 wickets (313 Test wickets, 239 ODI wickets and 38 T20I wickets).
