He believes that Pant’s work ethic and lively personality would make him a great teammate. Meanwhile, Australia’s T20 captain, Mitchell Marsh, who has had the opportunity to play under Pant’s leadership at the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), commended Pant’s competitive spirit, particularly given the challenges he has faced since his severe car accident in December 2022.

“The Indian cricketer I believe is most Australian would be Rishabh Pant. I think the way he goes about his aggressive nature, the way he works, he’d be very enjoyable to play with,” Travis Head shared during a discussion on Star Sports.

Mitchell Marsh further elaborated, saying, “He’s a ripping bloke. I wish he was Australian. He’s obviously been through a lot in the last few years. What a comeback! He’s a positive guy, still very young, and loves winning. Despite having a relaxed demeanor—always laughing and smiling—he’s highly competitive. He has that big smile, which makes him even more likable.”

As the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia approaches, Pant is expected to play a pivotal role. The first Test kicks off in Perth on November 22. During India’s last Test series in Australia, Pant showcased his skills by scoring an unbeaten 89 in the fourth Test at the Gabba, helping India secure a memorable 2-1 victory.
