The fiery Australian fast bowler, Mitchell Starc gave an electrifying start to the Ashes 2021-22 as he struck with the first ball of the series. Starc pulled off a peach of a delivery to dismiss left-handed English opener Rory Burns on a golden duck. Starc bamboozled Burns out round his legs on a yorker as the opener shuffled too far across.
Mitchell Starc also found swing on the very first delivery of the match as he nailed the blockhole on the leg stump to give Australia the opening breakthrough in the game. Australia eventually made a dominant start in the first session of the day as they managed to take four English wickets on 59 at Lunch.

Mitchell Starc has been going through a rough patch in Test cricket in 2021 with inconsistent outings for the Australian team. However, the left-arm fast bowler will be aiming to capitalize on a dream start on Day 1 of the first Ashes Test in Brisbane. Before the rain interruption later in the day, England got bundled out for a meager score of 14.

Earlier, Joe Root had won the toss and opted to bat at the Gabba. Both, Stuart Broad and James Anderson are not playing the first Test with Mark Wood, Chris Woakes, and Ollie Robinson making the place in XI among the pacers. Meanwhile, for Australia, Pat Cummins made his maiden appearance as a Test captain and he made the occasion special with a 5-wicket haul.
