The third match of the 5-match T20I series between Australia and Sri Lanka was played at Manuka Oval, Canberra. Batting first, the Sri Lankan team, which lost the first couple of matches of the series, set a target of 122 runs in front of the hosts. During the Sri Lankan batting, Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc bowled a ball after which went pretty wide of the Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade was also surprised after seeing the Sri Lankan batter.
This incident took place on the 18th over of the first innings. Mitchell Starc, who came to bowl the fifth ball of the over, bowled a no ball which was above three meters. Starc made this mistake while trying to bowl a slower ball. During that time, Shanaka, who was batting, kept looking at the ball and wicketkeeper Matthew Wade tried to catch the ball but he failed to grab the ball.

The no-ball from Mitchell Starc went straight to the boundary and stopped. The umpire called it a no ball and 5 bonus runs were added to Sri Lanka’s account.
This mistake of Mitchell Starc did not cost Australia as Shanaka could not take advantage of the free hit and could collect only one run. Talking about the Sri Lankan innings, the hosts Australia won the toss and invited them to bat first. The start of the visiting team was not good.

The Sri Lankan team has lost 4 wickets for just 40 runs. After this, captain Dasun Shanaka (39 *) and wicket-keeper Dinesh Chandimal (25) added some runs and Sri Lanka scored 121 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
