After a spectacular century in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) opening game of IPL 2025, Ishan Kishan failed to replicate his form against Delhi Capitals. The left-hander was dismissed for just 2 runs off 5 balls in the 10th match of the tournament at ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, on March 30.

SRH had a nightmare start after opting to bat first. Abhishek Sharma fell for a golden duck on the very first ball, setting the tone for a top-order collapse. Ishan Kishan walked in at No. 3 but couldn’t settle, departing cheaply in the third over.

His dismissal came at the hands of Mitchell Starc, who bowled a sharp short ball outside off at 139.1 kmph. Ishan attempted a cut shot but failed to control it, sending the ball straight to Tristan Stubbs at deep backward point. Stubbs made no mistake, completing a clean catch near the boundary.

This marks consecutive low scores for Ishan after his match-winning century in SRH’s first outing. With two of their key batters back in the pavilion early, SRH found themselves in deep trouble, while Delhi Capitals gained the upper hand.

Before the match, SRH skipper Pat Cummins stressed the need to post a challenging total in the afternoon heat. “We batted the opposition out of the game last year, hope to do that today,” Cummins said. SRH made one change, bringing in Zeeshan for Simarjeet.

Meanwhile, DC’s Axar Patel emphasized an aggressive approach. “You have to be brave against SRH, especially in the powerplay. Bowl like it’s the death overs,” he said, confirming Rahul replaced Rizvi in the playing XI.
