Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj faced a troll for her delaying message on the 72nd Independence Day occasion. In reply, she played that in her cool style and shut the mouth with a proper reply.
On the celebration of 72nd Independence Day, Indian women cricketer Mithali Raj tweeted, “Wishing India, freedom from hunger, poverty, discrimination, sexism, abuse & greed. We have had 72 years to build ourselves in the manner we want to be defined. Are we close? Lives were lost so we could breathe free. Let’s honour those sacrifices. Jai Hind.”

A twitter user inappropriately commented on that, “Independence day over http://mam.As a celebrity this is not good.”

In reply, Raj calmly posted the valid reason of getting late to post the message.
She replied, “I’m honored that you think I’m a celebrity. I’m merely an athlete on national duty since 1999. We have the challengers trophy going on and I don’t have the phone with me on the field or off it on Match days. Hope that’s a good enough reason for the delay? Happy Independence Day.”

Raj and most of other Indian women cricketers are currently busy in the ongoing 2018–19 Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy, the first edition of the tournament that is hosted by Bengaluru from August 14 to 21. Three teams are participating in the tournament – India Blue, India Red and India Green. On the first two days of the tournament (August 14 and 15), Mithali Raj’s leading team India Blue played two matches and lost in both matches.
In the opening game of the tournament on August 14, which was a rain-interrupted game, skipper Mithali Raj’s (51) brilliant half-century went in vain as India Red won the match by 7 wickets under VJD method.
On the Independence Day, Mithali Raj’s India Blue faced India Green which was also a rain-affected game and India Green also claimed a seven-wicket victory.
