Mithali Raj, Smriti Mandhana climb up in the ODI batting rankings

In the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings, in-form Indian cricketers Mithali Raj and Smriti Mandhana climbed up while the Harmanpreet Kaur has slipped down after a poor ODI series in the Sri Lanka tour.

Mithali Raj, the ODI captain of Indian women’s cricket team, climbed up at the no.3 Women’s ODI Batting Rankings after some good performances in the recent ODI series in the Sri Lanka tour. In that three-match ODI series that the visitors India women’s won by the 1-2 margin, Raj scored 177 runs with the average of 177.00. After 0 not out in the first game, Raj scored 52 runs in the second ODI and played another brilliant 125* knock in the third ODI.

Meanwhile, the opener Smriti Mandhana also climbed up at the no.4 position in the Women’s ODI Batting Rankings after maintaining her brilliant batting form in the Sri Lanka tour. The left-handed batter scored 138 runs in that ODI series with the average of 69.00 as she scored 73*, 14 and 51 runs respectively in that series.

On the other hand, Harmanpreet Kaur disappointed with the bat in that ODI series by scoring only 24 runs with the average of 12.00. Kaur slipped down to four places as she is now at the no.17 position in the Women’s ODI Batting Rankings.

The top two spots of the Women’s ODI Batting Rankings remained unchanged as the Australian duo Ellyse Perry and Meg Lanning are standing on the no.1 and no.2 positions respectively.

On the other hand, South African women’s medium-pacer Marizanne Kapp moved up at the no.3 position in the Women’s ODI Bowling Rankings after brilliant bowling performances in their West Indies tour where they played the three-match ODI series that finished 1-1. The 28-year-old medium-pacer picked up seven wickets in that series.

Both those series were the parts of ICC Women’s Championship. At the end of those series, New Zealand, Australia, England and West Indies are on top four positions respectively while Pakistan, India, South Africa and Sri Lanka are at the bottom four positions respectively.
