Mohammad Kaif Appreciates The Bhoomi Pujan In Ayodhya Ram Temple

In the groundbreaking ceremony, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid a 40kg silver brick as a part of the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ of the grand temple at Ayodhya. Last year, the Supreme Court had delivered a milestone verdict through which almost 2.77-acres of land was allotted to both Hindus and Muslims for a Ram temple. The apex court had also ordered a five-acre plot at a different site in Ayodhya for a mosque.

PM Narendra Modi reached Ayodhya on Wednesday morning and performed the ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ rituals at around 12:30 pm, with many BJP leaders like LK Advani and Uma Bharti witnessing landmark occasion through video conference amid COVID-19 pandemic.

On the historic occasion, social media was flooded with pictures and videos of the ceremony. Former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif also joined the trend as recalled his childhood days and went on to reveal that he loved watching ‘Ramlila’.

Tweeting about the same, Kaif said, “Growing up in Allahabad, a city with Ganga-Jamuna culture, I loved watching Ramlila-a tale of compassion,co-existence, honour and dignity. Lord Ram saw goodness in everyone and our conduct should reflect his legacy. Don’t allow the agents of hate to come in the way of love and unity.”

On the occasion, PM Modi said, “I believe that this grand Ram temple to be built in Ayodhya, like the name of Shri Ram, will reflect the rich heritage of Indian culture. I believe it will inspire the entire humanity till eternity.”

After breaking making his international debut in 2000, Kaif played in 13 Tests and 125 ODIs, scoring 624 and 2753 runs respectively. Apart from being a batsman, Kaif was also known for his mind-boggling fielding skills. His most memorable knock in international cricket came during the 2002 NatWest Trophy final. He, along with Yuvraj Singh, had played a crucial role in India’s triumph at Lord’s in 2002.

Apart from Mohammad Kaif, many other Indian cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Amit Mishra, RP Singh and Harbhajan Singh tweeted out over the ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ in Ayodhya.
