Former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif reckons that Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya will be playing a crucial role during India’s campaign in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Reasoning that India is going to need finishers with the ability to bat with very high strike rates, Kaif said that India will require the ability of Hardik and Karthik.

During a recent interaction with Sony Sports, Mohamad Kaif said, “I have been saying that if you see the top-order, you have lots of players there like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, (Shreyas) Iyer. But to finish the game, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik will be playing a major role as India needs finishers who can play with a higher strike rate.”

He further explained, “So, I see these two repeating the same things again and again. Like they did against South Africa and in the IPL as well, their form will be crucial against Ireland and when they play T20Is against England and then move forward from there. If India has to win the World Cup, they will be playing a crucial role.”

India is going to play a two-match T20I series against Ireland where Hardik Pandya is going to lead the side. The Gujarat Titans player has been in tremendous form since coming back into cricket and was pivotal to India’s comeback against South Africa as well.
