Mohammad Nabi, The veteran Afghanistan cricketer, made headlines last month after called it quit to Test cricket. He retired from the longest format of the game on a high note after helping Afghanistan a whopping 224 runs win in the one-off Test against Bangladesh. On Friday, he was again in the news and for more serious reasons. Rumours of his death suddenly started spreading on Twitter, with many tweets allegedly saying that he had suffered a heart attack. Despite Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) tweeting pictures of a practice match between Mis-e Ainak Knights and Bost Defenders, where Nabi was seen in action, the rumours still were going around.

On Saturday, Mohammad Nabi took to Twitter and shared that the news of his death was “fake” and said that he was “all good”.
Dear friends,
Alhamdulillah I am all good, a news disseminated by some media outlets about my demise is FAKE. Thank you.— Mohammad Nabi (@MohammadNabi007) October 4, 2019
Mohammad Nabi might have announced his retirement from Test cricket but will continue to play Afghanistan in One Day Internationals (ODIs) as well as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) – two formats where he has a lot of success. After Afghanistan got the ICC Test nation status on July 2017, they have played three Test matches so far and Mohammad Nabi was a part of the team. However, he failed to leave a mark in the format.
The 34-year-old all-rounder said he would like the young players to get chances in the Test. Nabi has been a key player of Afghanistan’s rise in world cricket who has been featuring in 121 one-day internationals and 68 Twenty20 internationals.
