Mohammad Rizwan takes a one-handed stunner to remove Scott Borthwick

Pakistan player Mohammad Rizwan made headlines with his performance in the ongoing County Championship in England where he is playing for Sussex. Veteran India batter Cheteshwar Pujara too is playing for the same team. Recently, both the batters stitched a brilliant partnership in the game against Durham to help Sussex gain a huge lead in the first innings as well.

Pujara scored a double-century whereas Rizwan missed out on a century. However, the Rizwan recently stole the limelight with a brilliant piece of fielding in the second innings. Rizwan was standing at first slip while the left-arm spinner Delray Rawlins was bowling and he grabbed a stunner.

Durham captain Scott Borthwick was batting and he tried to defend the delivery but missed it. He also got an edge of his bat and was deviated after hitting the leg of the wicketkeeper as well. While it was well away and behind from Mohammad Rizwan who was standing at first slip, he jumped and caught the ball to complete a stunning catch as well.

As far as the match is concerned, Durham batted first and could only manage 223 runs as Aaron Beard and Tom Clark picked up three wickets each for Sussex. Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara then scored a brilliant 203 as Sussex posted 538, gaining a lead of 315 runs as well. However, it was Pujara’s third consecutive hundred in the ongoing County Championship too.

However, Durham bounced back strongly in the match as both openers Alex Lees and Sean Dickson smashed hundreds in the second innings before Durham declared their innings at 364/3 and eventually the match ended in a draw. However, Sussex is currently at the second-last position in Division 2 team standings with 31 points from four matches as well.
