The Afghan opener did this great job during the BPL match between Chittagong Vikings and Dhaka Dynamites. Dhaka batsman Mijanur Rahman tried to go ahead of the spinner Nayeem Hassan’s ball and tried to play the shot. Although he missed it and the ball collapsed on his pad and stopped there.

When the ball was lying between batsmen and stumps, Shahzad was quick enough to come forward and he picked up the ball and threw it towards the wickets without even looking at it. The ball started going straight to the wickets and later when the third umpire saw the replay in which the batsman did not come inside the crease.

Expressing his craziness for Dhoni, Shahzad once said, “There was a time when India was playing a final in the West Indies. Dhoni was batting and India needed 15 runs in the last over. It was Ramzan time then as well. At that time, whatever we asked Allah is fulfilled. Dhoni was unfit for a couple of games earlier and was only playing the final against Sri Lanka. 15 were needed off the last over. I prayed to Allah that India win this match and Dhoni finishes the match. So, I had prayed and delayed my food for a while. So, I can delay sleep as well.”

Chittagong Vikings won this match by 11 runs. Earlier, while batting first, the team scored 174 runs in their quota of 20 overs. In reply, Dhaka team could not take advantage of captain Shakib Al Hasan’s half-century, and only managed to score 163 runs in their quota of 20 overs.
