Pakistan’s Mohammad Wasim Jr was a class apart in the ongoing match 35th of the ICC World Cup 2023 against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Despite the match being a high-scoring affair, Wasim Jr bowled exceptionally well and picked up three wickets for 60 runs.
In a match where every other Pakistan bowler was taken to the cleaners, Wasim Jr kept things tight and did not allow the New Zealand batters to hit him easily. He landed a crucial blow for his team during the fag end of the innings, removing dangerous Mark Chapman in the 45th over.

Wasim Jr bowled a good length ball that had a hint of reverse. The ball tailed away from the middle, and Chapman misjudged the length and tried to pull, but the ball skidded away and sneaked through him to rattle the stumps.

Mark Chapman had played a good hand for New Zealand, scoring 39 runs off 27 balls at a strike rate of around 145. He also hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.
After removing Chapman, Wasim Jr also sent Glenn Phillips packing. He bowled a low full toss tailing in, and Phillips tried to sweep across the line but missed it and was bowled off his pads.

Phillips had scored 41 runs off 25 balls, powering New Zealand to a total of over 401 runs. Wasim Jr was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan, and his three wickets helped to restrict New Zealand’s total to some extent. Wasim Jr’s performance in this match was a testament to his skill and talent as a bowler. He is one of the most promising young fast bowlers in the world, and he is sure to play a key role for Pakistan in the years to come.
