Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has once again found himself in the headlines after his estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, accused him on Instagram of neglecting their 10-year-old daughter Ayra’s education. According to Hasin Jahan, Ayra recently secured admission to a prestigious international school, but she alleged that Shami initially did not want her to be enrolled there.

In a strongly worded post, she claimed the cricketer prioritises the education and lifestyle of his girlfriend’s children over his own daughter.
“The enemies did not want my daughter to get admission in a good school, but Allah foiled their plans,” she wrote. “She has now secured admission to a very good international school.”

Hasin further alleged that Shami spends lavishly on his girlfriend — from booking luxury business-class flights to covering the cost of her children’s schooling — while refusing to contribute towards Ayra’s education. She reportedly receives ₹4 lakh per month in alimony, with ₹2.5 lakh earmarked specifically for their daughter’s expenses.

Yet, in her post, Hasin Jahan accused Shami of neglect: “Despite being a billionaire, he is playing with my daughter’s life because of womanizing, while educating his mistress’s children in elite schools. He spends lakhs on flights for mistresses but claims he has no money for his own daughter’s education.”

On the cricketing front, Shami is preparing for a comeback in the 2025 Duleep Trophy ahead of the Asia Cup. After a lukewarm IPL season with Sunrisers Hyderabad, the senior fast bowler was left out of India’s tour of England.
Shami and Hasin Jahan married in 2014 and welcomed their daughter Ayra in 2015. However, their relationship has been turbulent, marked by public disputes, allegations, and ongoing legal battles.
