India and Australia are locking horns with each other in the opening game of the three-match ODI series at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 17. After being put in to bat first by the Indian skipper, Hardik Pandya, Australia was cruising at one stage on 129/2 in the 20th over as the set batter Mitchell Marsh pressed on the accelerator and was taking on the Indian spinners.

However, the hosts made a strong comeback as Jadeja got rid of Marsh on the fifth ball of the 20th over and Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Marnus Labuschagne three overs later. With Australia on 161/4 after 27 overs, Hardik Pandya decided to bring Mohammed Shami back into the attack and he didn’t disappoint as he ended up picking three wickets in three overs to destroy Australia’s lower order.

Out of the three dismissals, the wicket of Cameron Green was loved the most by the fans as he was left dumbfounded by Shami’s brilliance. On the third ball of the 30th over, the Indian pacer bowled a good length delivery on the off stump as Green came on the front foot to defend the ball. However, he was a bit late on the shot as the ball went past his outside edge and sent the off stump was dislodged.

Here is the video of Mohammed Shami cleaning up Cameron Green:

Cameron Green returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 off 19 balls leaving Australia reeling at 174/6 in 29.3 overs. He also scalped the wickets of Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis to finish with figures of 3/17 in six overs.

Apart from Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj also picked up 3/29 in 5.4 overs and cleaned up Australia’s tail to bundle them out for 188 in 35.4 overs. Ravindra Jadeja picked up 2/46 in nine overs while Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav picked up one wicket each.

Indian bowlers scripted history as they took the least number of overs to dismiss Australia in an ODI against India. Mitchell Marsh top scored for the Aussies with his knock of 81 off 65 balls smashing 10 fours and five sixes in his innings.
