India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has hit back at former Pakistan cricketer Hasan Raza for his outlandish accusations regarding the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Raza, who played seven Tests and 16 ODIs for Pakistan, has made a series of unbelievable claims aimed at discrediting India’s impressive performance in the tournament.

Despite India’s pacers showcasing exceptional bowling throughout the competition, Raza has alleged that the ICC and the BCCI are providing Team India with a special ball that enhances seam and swing. His accusations have drawn widespread criticism, with former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram urging him to refrain from tarnishing Pakistan cricket’s reputation with such unsubstantiated claims.

Shami, who has been in stellar form during the World Cup, has also joined the chorus of voices condemning Raza’s remarks. In an Instagram post, Shami urged Raza to have some respect and appreciate the achievements of others.

“Come on, have some shame, focus on the game rather than indulging in useless chatter. At least sometimes, enjoy someone else’s success,” Mohammed Shami wrote.

Shami further questioned Raza’s credibility, stating, “Come on, it’s the ICC World Cup, not your local tournament, and you’re a player, right? Wasim bhai has explained and clarified this before. Hahahahahaha.” “You don’t even have confidence in your own player Wasim Akram. You’re busy praising yourself, my dear. Just like a wow,” he added.

Shami’s outburst reflects the growing frustration among cricket fans and experts over Raza’s baseless accusations, which have overshadowed India’s remarkable journey in the World Cup. The Indian pacer’s powerful response has sent a clear message that such unfounded claims will not be tolerated and that the focus should be on celebrating the exceptional talent and sportsmanship displayed during the tournament.
