Mohammed Shami, the formidable Indian pacer, has not only showcased his prowess on the cricket field but has also provided insights into his personal life. Shami recently disclosed the challenges he faces in maintaining a relationship with his daughter, Aaira, due to his estranged wife Hasin Jahan’s restrictions on their communication.

Expressing the longing for his daughter, Mohammed Shami emphasized that familial bonds are irreplaceable, even in the face of personal turmoil. He shared the complexities of his interactions with Aaira, revealing that communication is subject to his wife’s approval.

“Who doesn’t miss their kids and family. Obviously, there are situations where not everything is in your hands. But if you ask me do I miss her (daughter), no one can leave their own blood,” Mohammed Shami conveyed in an interview with News18.

Acknowledging the limited communication with Aaira, Mohammed Shami elaborated on the constraints, stating, “I do speak to her sometimes. All depends on her, if she (Hasin Jahan) allows I talk to her. I haven’t visited her yet. I just want to wish her good health and a lot of success. Whatever is going on between her mother and me, that shouldn’t matter. I make sure that she is living a healthy life.”

While addressing his on-field commitments, Mohammed Shami’s absence from the Indian squad since the conclusion of the ODI World Cup 2023 has been attributed to an injury. His notable performances in the tournament were followed by a hiatus, causing him to miss subsequent series against Australia, and Afghanistan, and the tour of South Africa in early 2024.
