Mohammed Shami’s estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, is back in the spotlight after the Calcutta High Court directed the Indian fast bowler to pay a monthly alimony of ₹4 lakh. The court ruled that ₹1.5 lakh should be allocated for Hasin’s maintenance and ₹2.5 lakh for the care of their daughter.

The decision came after Jahan appealed a 2023 district sessions court verdict that had awarded her a much lower amount, just ₹50,000 per month. Following the court’s ruling, Jahan shared her emotional journey and financial struggles following the separation.

“Before marriage, I worked as a model and actress. Shami asked me to leave everything behind and become a housewife. I did that willingly out of love. But now, with no income of my own, he has to take responsibility for our well-being,” she told the media.

However, just as the legal matter drew public attention, Jahan found herself in another controversy. A video surfaced online showing her involved in a heated physical altercation with another woman. In the clip, which quickly went viral, she appears to push and shove the other woman. The reason behind the clash remains unclear, but the footage has ignited debate across social media platforms.

Hasin Jahan and Mohammed Shami were married in 2014. Before settling down with the Indian cricketer, she had a successful career as a model and was also a cheerleader for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Their marriage began to unravel in 2018 when Jahan filed an FIR accusing Shami of domestic violence, dowry harassment, adultery, and even match-fixing.

At the time, the BCCI withheld Shami’s central contract pending an internal investigation. He was cleared of corruption charges by the board’s anti-corruption unit and reinstated.

Meanwhile, Shami, who recently featured for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025, endured a tough campaign. The veteran pacer played nine matches and managed to pick up just six wickets, struggling to find his rhythm throughout the season.
