In the last few days, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has witnessed some strange things Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) going through one of their best days on the field suffered one such bad day at the office after locking horns against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, Bangalore put on its best bowling effort with Mohammed Siraj leading the pack with three wickets with the new ball upfront and it helped the team to register a comprehensive win.

Mohammed Siraj bowled brilliant in the powerplay

After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, nothing went in favor of the Eoin Morgan-led side as Siraj was throwing fireballs in his opening spell. He managed to dismiss Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana, and Tom Banton in his first two overs which left KKR reeling 14/4 in the fourth over itself. Siraj also became the first-ever bowler to deliver two maiden overs in an IPL and KKR also registered the fifth-lowest powerplay score in the IPL ever.

Knight Riders were depending on Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan to bail them off, but the duo only managed to add 18 runs as the former was soon dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal. The latter also dismissed at Cummins to leave KKR reeling at 40/6 in the 13th over of the innings. Stil, Eoin Morgan decided to score some quick runs but he soon perished to Washington Sundar. For RCB, Siraj ended with magical figures of 3/8 while Chahal and Sundar also went for only 28 runs in eight overs sharing three wickets between them.

Devdutt padikkal started off well

The 85-run target was never going to challenge for RCB’s star-studded batting line-up and their openers, Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal took the cautious start, and then Finch decided to walk down the wicket for the pacers to tackle swing and was quite successful in it.

But on the only occasion when he stayed in his crease, Finch ended up edging one behind to the keeper off Lockie Ferguson. On the other hand, Padikkal cleared the in-field a couple of times and was looking good to finish the chase. But he was involved in a mix-up with Gurkeerat Singh and had to got bat to the pavilion on 25.
