On Day 2 of the World Test Championship final, India struggled to find their rhythm against Travis Head and Steve Smith. The Indian pace-bowling duo of Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj looked out of options as Head and Smith continued to frustrate the bowling attack. The opening hour of the day provided an opportunity for India to strike, but they failed to make an impact.

The tension escalated when Siraj threw the ball back at the stumps in frustration after Smith pulled out of a delivery due to issues with the Spider-cam. Despite Smith’s explanation, Siraj remained unimpressed. This incident, however, turned out to be a turning point for India.

Motivated by the incident, Mohammed Siraj unleashed a barrage of short deliveries, creating trouble for Head. Eventually, he got the breakthrough by dismissing Head caught behind for a solid 163, ending their 285-run partnership.
