As Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 75 on Wednesday, the cricketing world has come forward with heartfelt tributes, reflecting on the leader’s unwavering support for Team India. Among them, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj shared an emotional account of how PM Modi has stood by the team through both triumphs and setbacks.

Siraj recalled the heartbreaking night of November 2023, when India lost the ODI World Cup final to Australia in Ahmedabad. Despite the disappointment of missing out on a third World Cup crown, PM Modi walked into the dressing room and consoled the players with words of encouragement.
“After our World Cup loss, Modi ji came to the dressing room and lifted our spirits. A year later, when we won the T20 World Cup, he called to congratulate us. He stood by us in defeat and in victory – a true inspiration,” Mohammed Siraj shared in a video on X as part of the My Modi Story campaign. The gesture, he said, showed the Prime Minister’s genuine bond with the team beyond wins and losses.

Former Indian opener Krishnamachari Srikkanth also reflected on his first meeting with Modi during the 2011 World Cup. “I broke protocol; he broke the ice with a hug,” he wrote on X. Over the years, Srikkanth has admired Modi’s humility, sharp grasp of issues, and tireless work ethic. “At 75, still humble, building the nation and serving tirelessly for us,” he added, lauding the PM’s enduring energy and leadership.
