Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj suffered an unfortunate and unexpected injury during the final session of Day 4, adding another setback to India’s already difficult outing in the ongoing Test series. The incident occurred when Siraj misjudged a ball racing toward the boundary and made a desperate dive to save it. Although he successfully stopped the ball, he landed awkwardly on his elbow and immediately clutched his shoulder in visible discomfort.

Physios rushed in for treatment, and the pacer was taken off the field. This happened during the 76th over, just as South Africa continued to pile on the pressure. This series has seen South Africa dominate India in a manner rarely witnessed in the World Test Championship era.

With the lead crossing 540, India have been virtually pushed out of the contest. At this stage, a draw appears to be the only realistic outcome India can hope for on the final day.
