The contest between bat and ball in England always gets an interesting one, especially the weather plays hide and seek with the players and it sometimes does tricky things during a Test. However, former English skipper, Joe Root is one such batter who is in the form of his life, and the Indian seamer, Mohammed Siraj was ecstatic after dismissing the batter showing how much his wicket meant to him.
On Day 2 of the ongoing Test match between India and England at Edgbaston, there were a plethora of interruptions. Both teams have struggled to keep the momentum going as they have had to walk off the field multiple times. Earlier in the day, India managed to reach a commanding score of 416 after captain Jasprit Bumrah smashed 29 from 14 balls to make sure India reach a brilliant score.ย

England’s pacer James Anderson took his 32nd 5-wicket haul but it seemed like the game had slipped away from England. As England walked out to bat, Jasprit Bumrah the bowler scalped three wickets in the game so far which has kept India on top of the game. But, Joe Root is one batter that has troubled the Indian bowlers for quite some time now.ย
The kind of form that Root displayed against New Zealand is proof that he is the man to get. Mohammed Siraj continued where he left last year against England after he was given the ball. The right-arm fast bowler was bowling to Root and he troubled him on the first five balls of the over.

Mohammed Siraj on the final ball of the 22nd over got the ball to swing back in and it caught Joe Root in an awkward position as he tried to cut the ball away but ball nipped back in sharply and he could only manage to get the splice of the bat as it went in wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant’s hand comfortably.ย
