Young all-rounder, Mohammed Wasim Jr impressed one and all during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Quetta Gladiators (QG) vs Islamabad United (IU) as the latter won the toss and decided to bowl first. While batting first Gladiators’ batsmen nailed down in front of the opposition bowlers. However, they were able to reach a total of 130 plus runs in the first inning. Whereas, Islamabad United (IU) bowlers displayed a brilliant piece of bowling performance.
Bowling, first they used almost five bowlers to complete all the spells of the first inning and every bowler managed to take at least a wicket each. From them, Mohammed Wasim and M.Musa hauled a couple of wickets each in their entire spells.

On the batting front, Quetta Gladiators one down batsmen, J.Weatherald scored 43 runs including 3 fours and 2 sixes with a strike rate over 100. Apart from him, A.Khan, Andre Russell, and U.Khan only managed to reach the double figures, as no other batsmen surpassed a 10-run mark.
Meanwhile, opener Faf du Plessis was amazed by all-rounder Wasim Wazir during the third over of the first inning. Teh pacer managed to deliver a barrage of quick short bowls and it made Faf inconvenient because of which he departs from the pitch very early. Wasim was bowling at some fierce pacer which left Faf in some serious trouble.

However, on the fifth ball of the third over, the ball found the inside edge and crashed onto the stumps. Faf couldn’t believe in his dismissal, but he had to go back to the pavilion by scoring 5 runs in 8 balls.

Wasim produced an absolute peach to remove Faf du Plessis. Islamabad United keep a check on the scoring rate. They concede only 36 in the powerplay.
