Lucknow Supergiants fast bowler Mohsin Khan told that his elder brother inspired and supported him to play cricket. Mohsin represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and coincidentally, he got a chance to represent the Lucknow team in IPL as well. Abhishek Tripathi had a special conversation with Mohsin Khan regarding other issues including travel with Lucknow.
During a recent conversation with Jagran, Mohsin Khan said, “My elder brother used to play cricket for the UP Police team. He only told me that you should also practice, it will be good. He used to watch me play. The best part is that my parents have always supported me a lot. Talking about the struggle, I got injured after playing under-16, those one or two years were very tough for my life. During that time my parents and brother supported me a lot. All these people used to say that one day you will play.”
How was it like joining a new franchise like Lucknow and reaching the playoffs in the very first season?
It feels great to be associated with Lucknow Supergiants as this is my local team. I am also from Uttar Pradesh and this team entered IPL for the first time and we qualified for playoffs. The team is playing very well and I hope to continue the way we have played so far. I am quite happy. Even before the auction, I was thinking that I should be selected in the team of Lucknow and the same thing happened. I am very happy because I have come from my local team to IPL team. I love that I am playing for this team and I think people of UP must be watching me.

Do national selectors have their eyes on you?
Nothing remains in my mind that the eyes of the selectors are on me. I only think that the way my performance is going, it should continue in future also. I just want to keep playing and everything goes well.
What is it that a lot of fast bowlers are coming from UP and especially West UP?
Muhammad Shami also comes from western Uttar Pradesh and people come to see him. I have spent a lot of time with them. Everybody thinks that we have to be a fast bowler and that’s the mind set.
