In a crucial showdown between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2024, Mohsin Khan delivered a stunning blow by dismissing Nehal Wadhera just shy of his maiden half-century. LSG, led by KL Rahul, opted to field first after winning the toss against MI. The decision paid dividends as LSG’s bowlers wreaked havoc, reducing MI to a precarious 27 for 4 within the powerplay overs.

Mohsin Khan initiated the onslaught by removing MI skipper Rohit Sharma for a mere 4 runs, while Marcus Stoinis sent Suryakumar Yadav packing for 10. The run-out of Tilak Varma and the dismissal of Hardik Pandya further dented MI’s batting lineup.

Facing the daunting task of resurrecting MI’s innings, Nehal Wadhera entered the fray in the sixth over. Alongside Ishan Kishan, Wadhera steadied the ship with a resilient 53-run partnership for the fifth wicket. However, their efforts were thwarted when Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Kishan in the 14th over.

With MI crossing the 100-run mark, Nehal Wadhera seemed poised to accelerate the scoring in the death overs. Yet, his aspirations were short-lived as Mohsin Khan produced a searing yorker that shattered Wadhera’s stumps in the 18th over.

Unable to counter Mohsin Khan’s pace and precision, Wadhera’s valiant innings concluded at 46 runs off 41 balls, comprising four boundaries and six maximums. Despite his efforts, MI posted a modest total of 144 for 7 by the end of their innings.

Following Nehal Wadhera’s departure, Tim David’s unbeaten 35-run cameo bolstered MI’s score, ensuring they reached a respectable total above the 140-run mark. However, LSG’s disciplined bowling performance restricted MI’s scoring opportunities, setting the stage for an intriguing chase.
