As the highly anticipated Test series between India and England approaches, former England spinner Monty Panesar has expressed deep admiration for India’s spin maestro, Ravichandran Ashwin. Panesar, a significant figure in England’s spin department during his career, drew an interesting analogy, likening Ashwin to a perpetually updating application. He emphasized the off-spinner’s remarkable ability to evolve and introduce new elements to his game.

In a recent interview, Panesar showered praise on Ashwin and acknowledged the crucial role he is expected to play in the upcoming series, particularly with India having the home advantage. Monty Panesar likened Ashwin’s adaptability to a sophisticated app that undergoes consistent updates every six months.

“He’s like an app, he keeps updating every six months! That’s what he has done throughout his career. I always find that I am a student when it comes to Ashwin’s bowling. I feel I am continually learning something new about his bowling. That’s the asset Ashwin is. He is a brilliant bowler,” remarked Monty Panesar.
