In any format of the game, a good fielder can be expected to play a crucial role in determining the fate of the match. Dropped catches by fielders in a tense situation can demand the chances of the team winning the game. On the other hand, if a player is successful in taking a blinder, the fielding team gets a slight edge and can dominate in the match. A lot of these situations have happened in most of the seasons of IPL.

It also depends on what fielding position a particular player is standing in, as it plays a crucial role in him getting many chances to grab a catch. Generally in T20Is, the teams prefer to put their best fielders at those positions on the boundary line where he is most likely to take a catch. Most of the time it is either long-on or long-of positon.
