Mother Of Veda Krishnamurthy Dies Of COVID-19

Cheluvamba Devi, The mother of Indian women cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy has died due to the global pandemic novel COVID-19. The middle-order batter has took to Twitter and tweeted about her mother’s death on Saturday.

“Appreciate all the messages I have received about the loss of my Amma. As you can imagine my family is lost without her. We now pray for my sister. I have tested negative & appreciate if you can respect our privacy. My thoughts & prayers go out to those going through the same!,” Veda wrote.

 

Veda Krishnamurthy is a key player of the Indian women’s cricket team and has played for the country in both the ODIs and T20Is. She had made her debut for Indian in a T20I match against Australia in June 2011 and since then, he has been a key member of the team as well. The Bengaluru-based cricketer has so far played 48 ODIs and 76 T20Is and scored 829 and 875 runs in both the formats respectively.

As far as the COVID-19 situation in India is concerned, every state is running out of oxygen, ICU beds, and important medicines as well as lakhs of people have been tested positive for the deadly virus on a daily basis. The second wave of the COVID-19 virus has become more dangerous than the first wave and has already taken a lot of lives so far.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, India have reported over 3.49 lakh new positive cases whereas more than 27000 people have lost their lives due to the virus and the overall death tally in India have reached over 1.90 lakh as well. Meanwhile, the overall positive cases in India has already reached over 1.6 crore too.
