The flamboyant Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been awarded a doctorate degree in Philosophy Honoris Causa (Ph.D. h.c.) by a university based in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

According to the reports of ANI, the institute awarded the degree to the legendary cricketer for his “extraordinary sporting prowess and as a catalyst for change with great integrity and humility.”

Accepting the reward, Yuvraj said, “I am honored to have been awarded this doctorate. In a way, it gives me an additional responsibility of holding the honor with great integrity and continue to live by example in everything I do.”

Singh has amassed more than 10,000 international runs in more than 400 innings. Apart from his cricketing bravery, he is also a cancer survivor. Since being cured, Yuvi set up his cancer foundation YouWeCan. Through his foundation, Yuvi ventured into fashion and other areas. In 2014, he awarded the Padma Shri award as well.
