There is no denying the fact that MS Dhoni is one of the most shrewd captains the world has ever seen as he had lead Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won their fourth Indian Premier League (IPL) title by beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 27 runs on Friday (October 15) at the Dubai International Stadium. Although there are several other factors that led to CSK’s win, nothing comes close to Dhoni’s mastermind in helping CSK get over the line.

The UAE leg started with doubts cast over the team combinations and their horrible performance in the 2020 edition. There was also an impending doubt over Suresh Raina’s form and Dhoni’s consistent failures. Yet the 40-year-old managed to marshal his troops wonderfully to take CSK to yet another IPL trophy. As with Dhoni, whenever he gets the cup, he hands over it to one of his teammates.

Sakshi, the wife of Dhoni, also joined her husband for the celebrations and hugged him tightly. Their daughter Ziva was also seen during the celebrations. In the photo, Sakshi can be seen wearing a loose yellow dress. Speculations began as to whether she is pregnant for the second time. And now it has been confirmed by Suresh Raina’s wife Priyanka that Sakshi is pregnant and the couple is expecting a baby in 2022.

Speaking about the final, CSK opening batter Faf du Plessis played a phenomenal knock of 86 runs off 59 balls allowed the team to post a challenging score of 192. The right-hand batter played the sheet anchor role to perfection and made sure to convert his start into something substantial. His innings allowed all-rounder Moeen Ali to flourish late down the order.

The CSK bowlers were right on the money and restricted their opponents to just 165. Shardul Thakur scalped three wickets and was well supported by Ravindra Jadeja and Josh Hazlewood who picked a couple of wickets each. Meanwhile, the script pretty much remained the same for KKR as, after the good start from opening batter Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill, the rest of the batters failed to get going, which led them to a 27-run loss.
