Legendary India captain MS Dhoni was spotted at a polling station in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Saturday, where he cast his vote during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2024. This phase of voting included 58 constituencies spread across Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, and commenced early in the morning.
Recently, Dhoni was involved in Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) IPL 2024 campaign, which saw the team exit in the group stage after failing to qualify for the playoffs. Despite CSK’s disappointing season, Dhoni’s dedication was evident as he played all 14 matches while battling a leg injury. Unfortunately, the team couldn’t defend their title and lost a crucial do-or-die match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.’

Ahead of the IPL 2024 season, Dhoni stepped down from his role as CSK captain and took a position lower in the batting order. Nevertheless, he demonstrated remarkable form, amassing 161 runs at an average of 53.66 and an impressive strike rate of 220.54. His performance included 14 fours and 13 sixes, showing that he still possesses the power and skill that have defined his illustrious career.

Amidst ongoing speculation about Dhoni’s future in cricket, CSK has clarified that their former captain will make his own decision regarding retirement. The franchise emphasized that they will respect whatever choice he makes and will not interfere.
“It is a question only MS can answer,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan remarked in a video shared by the franchise. “We have always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him, and as all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time.”

While the future remains uncertain, Kasi expressed hope that Dhoni would continue playing for CSK in the upcoming season. “We do expect that we will get a decision as and when he decides. But we are very hopeful he’ll be available for CSK next year,” he added.
