Former India captain MS Dhoni recently expressed his desire to explore the diverse landscapes of India before venturing to other countries for vacations, amidst the ongoing controversy involving the Maldives. The controversy ignited when a Maldivian minister made controversial remarks about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speculating that New Delhi might be considering Lakshadweep as an alternative tourist destination to the Maldives.
In response to the controversy, two other Maldivian ministers shared photos of PM Modi’s recent Lakshadweep trip along with contentious comments. The situation prompted notable Indian cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Venkatesh Prasad, and Suresh Raina, to openly oppose the critical remarks and advocate for embracing Indian destinations.
In a video circulating on social media, MS Dhoni, known for his illustrious cricket career, revealed his inclination to explore India for vacations. Dhoni, who had extensively traveled the world during his international cricketing days, stated, “Mostly, I do travel a lot but not for vacations. Frankly, if you ask me, I have not been on a lot of vacations.”

MS Dhoni explained that during his cricketing career, his travels were primarily focused on cricket-related commitments, leaving little time for leisure.

Expressing his and his wife’s newfound interest in travel, Dhoni said, “My wife loves to travel. So, now our plan is… we are getting some time off, we want to travel. But we want to start from India. We have so many beautiful places over here. I would like to explore them first before heading to different places.”
