Former World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni is now entangled in a legal dispute with his former business associates, Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Das, who co-direct Aarka Sports and Management Ltd. The Jharkhand High Court issued a notice to Dhoni on Tuesday following a case filed by these two former partners. Diwakar and Das had previously collaborated with Dhoni to open cricket academies under his name, an agreement that appeared promising for all parties until recent allegations surfaced.
In January, MS Dhoni filed a formal complaint in Ranchi, accusing Diwakar and Das of misappropriating INR 15 crore. His claim states that despite him revoking their authority to operate under his name in 2021, the two continued to launch cricket academies using his brand.

MS Dhoni’s complaint prompted judicial intervention, and in response, Diwakar and Das filed a challenge against the judicial magistrate’s notice in the Jharkhand High Court. The High Court has also issued a summons for Diwakar, his wife, and Aarka Sports and Management Ltd., requiring them to appear in court and provide their explanation regarding these allegations.

As per recent reports from NDTV, the High Court has directed Dhoni to attend court and clarify his side of the story, as the matter has drawn significant public and legal interest. To give context, Aarka Sports is a prominent sports management firm based in Noida’s Sector 63, specializing in managing players and establishing sports facilities.

With Dhoni’s star power, the company had aimed to create a platform for young cricketers to develop their skills, potentially grooming the next generation of cricket stars. The partnership, initially established in 2017, has turned contentious, casting a shadow over the academies’ purpose and operations. This legal case, now gaining traction, could impact Dhoni’s association with sports management firms and the future of his cricket academies.
